Bentley started his career as an independent financial planner with Upstate Professional Planning Services in 1985. He has served as a vice president at The Essex Investment Group and was a vice president at McDonald Investments, the wealth management division of Key Bank, Inc. With more than 30 years of experience behind him, Bentley decided to start his own practice. In April 2004, Hutchings Financial Group opened for business at its current location on Sully’s Trail in Pittsford, NY. Bentley is a Registered Representative and Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network, a FINRA and SIPC member firm and Registered Investment Adviser.
Bentley has been a frequent lecturer and educator for many major employers in the Central and Western New York area, such as the University of Rochester, Xerox Corporation, The Gleason Works, and many area hospitals, medical facilities, and manufacturing facilities. He also speaks to many professional associations, such as the Institute of Managing Accountants and The Estate Planning Council of Rochester.
Bentley was born and raised in Springville, Utah. He attended Utah Valley University, majoring in biology. After college, he and his wife moved to the Rochester area and currently live in Victor, NY. Bentley enjoys hiking and biking the many trails of western New York and skiing the mountains of his home state of Utah, but his favorite activity is spending time with his four children and many grandchildren.
Kathy is a native of Rochester, NY. She graduated with an associate degree from a local business college and right after college, in 1990, joined the Essex Investment Group to support their new sales and marketing departments. Since then, she has had extensive training and education in supporting stock trading, back-office operations, and securities procedures. Kathy now assists Hutchings Financial Group advisors. Kathy is a dedicated mother of two wonderful and active boys, Nicholas and Michael. They currently live in Greece, NY.
