Bentley Hutchings
President
During his college years, Bentley gained an early interest in how to best manage his own personal finances. It was during this time that he realized that there were very few resources available to help most individuals manage their financial lives. It was from that experience that he gained a desire to not only learn for himself, but also help educate others in how to save and invest for their most important financial goals, such as saving for a home, setting up a college investment account, and planning for retirement.
Today, Bentley’s primary focus is on financial advising and retirement planning for individuals and families. In his 40 years of experience as a financial advisor, he has served as a vice president at The Essex Investment Group and at McDonald Investments, the wealth management division of Key Bank, Inc. Bentley has been a frequent lecturer and educator for many major employers in the Central and Western New York area, such as the University of Rochester, Xerox Corporation, The Gleason Works, and many area hospitals and medical facilities. He has been invited to speak to local professional associations, including the Institute of Managing Accountants and The Estate Planning Council of Rochester. In April 2004, he decided to become an independent financial advisor and founded The Hutchings Financial Group in Pittsford, New York.
Bentley was born and raised in Mapleton, Utah, where he enjoyed skiing, horseback riding, and hunting in the mountains. He attended Utah Valley University, majoring in biology. Bentley enjoys hiking and biking the many trails of New York state and still hikes and skis in the Utah mountains whenever possible. His favorite activity is spending time with his four children and many grandchildren.
